Doug Brown Doug Brown recently moved his family and business from Orange County up to Humboldt County California. While business was doing well down south, the attraction of small town living and such a positive environment for children lured him up north.

Doug studied Architecture and Planning at Woodbury University in Burbank, California. While attending college Doug also developed his skills as a designer, learning first-hand while working for BBG Architects. After college Doug spent a brief time working under Architect Jon Rix at Architectronix, Inc., where he discovered the beginnings of what would later become his trademark style for design presentation.

Doug later worked for Richard Denzer of den Zer International, first as his design assistant, and then moving up into the Project Manager role for large projects such as The Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach California, and Eagle Vines Country Club in Napa California to name a few. While at den Zer International, Doug worked on many large Commercial and Hospitality projects from the planning stage to completion.

Though this work was exciting, Doug wanted to turn his attention back to to residential architecture, so he accepted a Design position at Buccilla Brooklyn and Associates. This award winning residential design firm was responsible for the Planning, Design, and Construction Documentation for many large scale clients throughout the Western States.

Doug founded Browns Designs in 2004, and to date he's designed over 60 residential and commercial projects for happy clients. Doug attributes his success to a great Mother, Karen Donnelly, a supportive wife, Sara, and his two awesome boys Derek and Thomas.
